The band welcomes complete beginners who wish to learn any of the following instruments: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon, French Horn, Cornet, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Drums or Percussion.

Invicta FM and KentTV.com are joining forces to find the best band in Kent in the “SoundClash 2009” competition - an online Battle of the Bands!
Artists and bands across the county can compete for the chance to win a cash prize of £1000 as well as a professional music video shot by a top notch film crew. Judges include Invicta FM DJs and the Chief Executive of the prestigious Kent Music School.
To take part, bands or solo artists need to upload a basic video of their preferred music track. Once it's up on KentTV.com fans can vote on which one they like best. The public get to choose the top eight music videos while two more will be selected by our elite panel of judges.
Once the Top Ten has been chosen, the public will have the final say. After a final voting round a winner will emerge.

The Beat Project was formed in May 2002 and is a charitable company registered with the Charities Commission.
The charity is based in its own training centre in Sittingbourne, Kent but provides its services throughout the South East and Wales.
It is very diverse, working with many individuals, organisations (both statutory and voluntary), groups and communities to tackle inequality, social exclusion, improve standards of basic education and increase opportunities for all (in particular disadvantaged young people) through setting up and facilitating a wide range of initiatives based around music and the creative arts.
Beat Project activities include work experience, projects, workshops and long term community development partnership programmes incorporating arts activities such as film making, rock & pop, urban arts, drama and multi cultural music projects.
Long term musical development opportunity for young people interested in dj-ing, mc-ing, recording or becoming a producer.
One hour studio sessions to produce or record a piece of work or musical idea with in house engineers. There are 5 x one hour slots available per week. Bookings can only be made via attendance of the Zone on a Tuesday night
